Lockerbie Bomber Wrongly Set Free?

July 6, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi aka the Lockerbie Bomber lives on in Libya even after around eleven months of his release. He was also forecasted to live for another eight months before succumbing to prostate cancer. He was the only convicted suspect who was also charged with the slaying of 207 people; after he detonated several explosive devices in 1988 on the Pan Am flight 103. The year 2009 was witness to his release and was full of controversy. He was thus released on so called ‘compassionate’ grounds as it was reported that he was terminally sick and had only a quarter of a year to live.
The medical personnel in charge, Doctor Karol Sikora said that he was ashamed of the entire incident as he was the one who imparted the deciding opinion to the Scot authorities. The doctor said that Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi had a 50-50 possibility of survival for a time period and that would be longer than 3 months. This was a fact that the doctor neglected while mentioning the entire report to the authorities during the trial.
Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi aka the Lockerbie Bomber was said to actually have made a nice recovery after he was treated to some alternative types of medications. However things have supposedly taken a different turn and his situation has worsened as reported by a close family source. He is also not certain of reaching the first full anniversary of his release.
