TAMPA, FLORIDA (BNO NEWS) — Chamberlain High School in Tampa, Florida was placed in lockdown after an explosive device exploded at the school on Monday morning, police said. A second device has been de-actived.

Tampa Police Department spokeswoman Laura McElroy said the small explosive device exploded in a hallway, and burned the clothing and caused minor injury to a female student. “The bomb team de-actived a second device,” McElroy said.

Officers searched the school and determined there are no other explosive devices on the campus. However, the school remained on lockdown while officers continue their investigation.

It was later lifted around 12 noon. “The investigation is still on-going,” McElroy said.

No arrests have been made as of yet.
