May 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a rather startling revelation it has come to light that a government official way back in the 1930’s believed that it was ‘beyond doubt’ that the Loch Ness monster indeed existed and also expressed concern that someone might attempt to capture or kill the creature. A newly released historical document gives details of a letter written by the chief constable of the Inverness-shire Constabulary in the year 1938 and it has been brought to light by the National Archives of Scotland (NAS) as part of an exhibition.
In the letter that has been written by Inverness-shire chief constable William Fraser to the under secretary of the state at the Scottish office, the police officer has emphasized that the fact that there were some bizarre creatures in Loch Ness seems beyond any doubt. At the same time, the chief constable also went on to divulge that a British couple, Peter Kent and Marion Stirling allegedly had a special harpoon gun and intended to catch hold of the monster either dead or alive. Moreover, the letter also points out that the Scottish police officials hardly had any power to protect the creature.
According to reports, the issue was also brought up in the British Parliament at around the same time when the local officials urged for a probe into the matter and confirm the existence of the creature. The government document that has been released shed light into the manner in which the ministers addressed the issue of the existence of the Nessie. Speculations about the existence of a creature in Loch Ness is said to have been circulating in 1930’s but it gained limelight in the 1930’s when pictures of the creature appeared in the media.
