Light eathquake rattles western France
May 14th, 2010 - 10:45 pm ICT by BNO NewsNANTES, FRANCE (BNO NEWS) — A light earthquake rattled western France on Friday afternoon, seismologists said, but causing no damage or casualties.
The 3.4-magnitude earthquake at 4.49 p.m. local time was centered about 23 kilometers (14.2 miles) west of the city of Nantes, or 11 kilometers (6.8 miles) southwest of Couëron. It struck about 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) deep, making it a shallow earthquake, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.
There were no reports of damage or casualties from the earthquake.
