Light earthquake shakes Los Angeles, no reports of damage
February 14th, 2010 - 3:42 pm ICT by BNO News ( Leave a comment )LOS ANGELES (BNO NEWS) — A light earthquake struck the Greater Los Angeles area on Saturday afternoon, seismologists said.
The earthquake, which struck at 1.39 p.m. PST, had a preliminary magnitude of 4.1, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center initially reported a 4.2 magnitude.
The epicenter of the quake was centered about 62 miles east of Los Angeles, or 3 miles south of the city of Redlands.
Shaking from the earthquake, which had a depth of approximately 1.6 miles, was felt widely throughout the area. There were no reports of damage or injuries.
