Light earthquake rattles Nevada
July 30th, 2010 - 7:59 pm ICT by BNO NewsHAWTHORNE, NEVADA (BNO NEWS) — A light earthquake rattled Nevada on early Friday morning, seismologists said, but there were no reports of damage or casualties.
The 4.2-magnitude earthquake at 04.13 a.m. local time (1113 GMT) was centered approximately 25 miles (35 kilometers) east-northeast of Hawthorne, a census-designated place in Mineral County. It struck about 5.5 miles (8.9 kilometers) deep, according to the Seismological Laboratory at the University of Nevada in Reno.
There were no reports of damage or casualties.
