Light 3.9-magnitude earthquake shakes Los Angeles
May 15th, 2010 - 4:02 pm ICT by BNO NewsLOS ANGELES (BNO NEWS) — A light earthquake shook Los Angeles on Friday evening, seismologists said. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
The 3.9-magnitude earthquake at 8.19 p.m. local time (3.19 GMT) was centered about 9 miles (14 kilometers) east-southeast of Port Hueneme, a small beach city in Ventura County. The epicenter was also located about 47 miles (76 kilometers) west of Los Angeles. It struck about 11.1 miles (17.9 kilometers) deep, making it a shallow earthquake.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
