Nov.23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The legless photographer Kevin Connolly recently appeared at the Worsham Theatre, where he gave a presentation about his life and his disability to a packed audience. The conference was widely attended by students who wanted to know about the life and diverse experiences of the photographer’s life who was born without legs.

The event witnessed Kevin talk at length about his life and share the unique experiences that he had encountered while he had traveled across the world. The photographer patiently answered the questions that were thrown at him by the people present in the audience. Kevin also narrated the story of how as a sophomore he had planned a trip to New Zealand and he landed there without any contacts or money. He recalled his adventures in the unknown country, where he was traveling alone for the first time.

At the same time, the photographer also recounted instances of how people reacted to his disability. Kevin revealed that no matter which part of Europe he went to, people had the same reaction irrespective of their place and background. This ultimately gave him the inspiration to capture the reactions and as a result he traveled to different countries and clicked pictures of the people looking at him. He described the look as the ‘universal stare’ with the intriguing glance captured in his pictures.

The photographer is presently all the more busy, as a collection of his pictures from the trip is being showcased at Rasdall Gallery in UK till the month of December. The collection, which has been titled ‘The Rolling Exhibition’ would highlight his experiences as a disabled artist.
