Leavenworth, KS man sentenced for bank robbery and high speed chase

KANSAS CITY, KANSAS (BNO NEWS) – A Leavenworth, Kansas man was sentenced to 142 months (more than 11 years) in prison for bank robbery in Lenexa, prosecutors announced on Wednesday.

Isha Jackson, 34, pleaded guilty to one count of armed robbery and one count of brandishing a firearm during the robbery.

On September 21, 2009, Jackson robbed the Wachovia Bank in Lenexa. After entering the bank, he pointed a .38 caliber revolver at the bank tellers and demanded money. When he was fleeing the scene, police officers that answered the alarm call saw his car and pursued him. Jackson led the police on a high speed chase until he crashed.

Jackson will also have to pay $13,000 in restitution for the damage inflicted to a car he struck and for the damage to the Enterprise rental car he was driving.
