Leah Siegel, ESPN Producer Dies at 43 After Breast Cancer Battle

July 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Leah Siegel, who was a mother of three children, a producer, and a breast cancer fighter lost her battle with the aggressive disease early this morning, but her story has inspired thousands to never give up their fight.

The 43 year old woman is being honored by ESPN network with a special tribute to her life and battle. Her husband, Eric Loehr said that the network definitely deserves credit. On Leah’s blog, her husband wrote, “Leah passed away this morning at about 4:30. Thank you to everyone. The support over the last couple of years has been amazing. As Leah has enriched many people’s lives, I believe that her life was equally enriched,” he added.

Her family has two services planned and is asking for donations to ‘Caring Bridge’ instead of flowers. ESPN has dedicated their “SportsCenter” to the three time Emmy award winning producer. Her husband stated, “ESPN is doing a little tribute to Leah in the SportsCenter shows today. It’s a very nice touch. ESPN is among a distinguished list of people and companies that deserves a lot of credit,” he said.

The funeral services will be held at Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home on Friday July 30 at 2 pm. A lighter celebration of Leah’s life and tribute to her memory will be held Saturday September the 11th at 10 or 11 am at the White Rock Lake Filter building, but the Caring Bridge website states that this may change.
