ssiamnLas Vegas, Dec 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Las Vegas police authorities have launched an extensive search operation to find the whereabouts of an unidentified gunman who stole casino chips worth a staggering $1 million from the Bellagio casino in Las Vegas. Despite the fact that Bellagio is known to be one of the most highly guarded casinos of the sin city, the thief was able to carry out his act without much hindrance and swiped away $1.5 million casino chips.

The incident took place on the wee hours of Tuesday morning when the unidentified gunmen parked his motorcycle outside the casino, walked up to the craps table before pulling up a handgun. The thief then seized the box filled with casino chips, ran back to his bike parked outside the casino and speed away although the entire act has been captured in the surveillance cameras. Las Vegas police officials have divulged that the entire heist lasted for less then three minutes with the gunman fleeing from the spot before the security guards could actually realize what was going on and react to the situation. Although the thief has walked away with casino chips worth $1.5 million, he might have difficulty in encashing his loot as the chips are unique to each casino.

Las Vegas police officials have stated that there are in the look out for anybody who would attempt to redeem the high-denomination chips at the Bellagio hotel and casino complex as the thief might be facing a major difficulty in encashing his loot anywhere else. Whether the chips had any kind of tracking device installed in them is not known as yet.
