eliotJarratt, Va., Nov.18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) After DC Sniper John Allen Muhammad, Greensville Correctional Center witnessed one more execution. On November 17, they executed Larry Bill Elliott, a former counter-intelligence officer of the Army, by electrocution in the electric chair [that is 101 years old]. Sources stated that he was given two cycles of electric current and died at 9:08p.m. Since 1995, Elliott became the fifth jail inmate to prefer electric chair for execution.

In 2001, Elliott was accused of murdering Robert Finch and Dana Thrall at Prince William County. He was arrested and sentenced for execution later, yet he never admitted that he had murdered the couple. Before dying, Elliott made a written statement in which he said that he was sorry for the family of Mr. Finch and and Ms. Thrall. In his last statement too, he did not admit of the crime he was believed to have committed. Instead he wrote, “Perhaps God’s purpose for my death is to demonstrate just how fractured our judicial system has become.” He criticized the law and order of the country for convicting innocent people and giving them capital penalty.

Elliot’s attorney had made a last appeal to the Supreme Court of the country for stopping the execution process but their plea got rejected. Timothy M. Kaine, the governor of Virginia also rejected the request of the lawyers and Larry Traylor Elliott’s life ended for killing a couple in order to win the heart of a female escort whom he had met on an online site. He was the oldest inmate of the Greensville Correctional Center to be given capital penalty in the recent days.
