Lakewood shooter Maurice Clemmons shot dead by the police

Maurice Clemmons Seattle, Dec 1 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The suspect in the tragic Lakewood police shooting case, Maurice Clemmons has been shot by the police. He had been taken to Harborview Medical Center, according to a law enforcement source. Dutch news agency BNO NEWS confirms that Maurice Clemmons has been shot and killed by the police.

There were reports that the police had cornered him in a house in Seattle where he was supposed to be holed up. The police were trying their best to make him come out of his hideout. They even fired to scare him out of the house.

Maurice Clemmons was outside in the 4400 block of South Kenyon Street when he was confronted by police officers. The source said he challenged the officers and was shot around 2:40 a.m.

Earlier, Ed Troyer, a spokesman for the Pierce County Sherriff’s office, said it was far from clear that Mr Clemmons was still alive. “We have determined that in fact he has been shot,” he said. “He may be deceased from his gunshot wound.”

Maurice Clemmons has a jail history. According to The Seattle Times, Clemmons was released from the Peirce County Jail last week, despite facing eight felony charges. Maurice Clemmons posted $15,000 with a bail bondsman, who paid the remainder of the man’s $150,000 bail.

In the Lakewood Police shootout case, 4 police officers were killed in this shoot-out, and all of them were in uniform at that time and were even equipped with their bulletproof vests, but still the bullets proved fatal for them. The officers were identified as Sergeant Mark Renninger, 39; Ronald Owens, 37; Tina Griswald, 40; and Greg Richards, 42.
