Oct. 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The United States Of America, is currently seeing ladybugs swarming the homes of people causing them to flood their blogs with the news. According to different sources the ladybugs are looking for shelter as winter is approaching. The same thing was noted by ‘The Today Show’ happening in Jefferson, Colorado.
Sources say that the insects swarming Toronto and the near areas are not actually lady bugs, but beetles that look like the red-spotty creatures. An etymologist, Antonia Guidotti, says that the beetles are merely following their normal ways. It is the way nature meant them to be. According to her, “It is fall, and animals hibernate in winter. Ladybird beetles are moving inside where it is nice and warm. They are just looking for a nice place to spend the winter.” She further adds, “This happens every year, it is not an unusual occurrence. What is unusual are people noticing it…There is no need to be fearful or apprehensive about it.” According to other etymologist these creatures tend to be attracted to light-colored houses more.
Over the past 10 years these infestations have increased 100 times and now, a new kind of ladybug has developed that has been noted to bite.
The residents are being advised not to worry and use simple measures like spraying bug spray and sealing of their houses by properly closing the windows and the doors. If nothing works, it is a consolation that ladybugs are said to be lucky and what more, they clear of the other insects in summer.
