untitled18Oct 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) According to popular online dictionaries, ‘LADETTE’ is a term used for ‘a young women who behaves in a manner similar to that of a young man, namely being boisterous and loud and drinking to excess.’ When a women starts impersonating the ‘lads’ she becomes a ladette. However, recently the boys being impersonated are the worst kind of boys around. The women start drinking and practicing rowdy behavior. Several cases of ladette culture on the rise has been reported by the media. A number of reports and news has come in from the UK, regarding the rise in the cult over the past two years itself.

In Wales, a number of ladettes were found causing disruptions recently. According to sources, this incident took place in Cardiff City Center. A number of female students were seen ‘wrestling’ on the streets. According to the authorities, such happenings are noted quite frequently. Due to this reason the authorities have banned street-drinking. This has been done to control the night-outers, who become quite rowdy at night after getting drunk. The officials are generally targeting ‘rowdy hens and stags’ so that the streets are pretty safe even at night. The police has been given a new set of powers. Accordingly, they can seize alcohol or even arrest the people who defy their orders. This ban has been presently initiated in the smaller areas but is expected to spread widely during the Christmas and new year period.

Based on the same phenomenon ‘Ladette to Lady’, a popular show was started in ITV in UK, in the year of 2005. The series was aired in 2006. The viewership was very strong, with a figure of 4.45 million.
