Kristine Casey gives birth to her own grand-son
February 14th, 2011 - 9:18 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattChicago, Feb 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Kristine Casey was over the moon when she gave birth to her grandson. It was a special moment for the 61 years old grandmother and mother rolled into one, when the baby boy let out his first cry.
According to reports, Kristine choose to be a surrogate mother for her daughter Sara Connell who was desperately trying to have a baby. Sara and her husband Bill were unable to have a child, so grandmother Kristine stepped in and became a surrogate mother for them.
It also ought to be mentioned that the biological parents of the baby are Sara and Bill as they donated their egg and sperms to create the embryo, which Kristine carried in her belly till delivery.
“The surgery itself was uncomplicated, and the emotional context of this delivery was so profound,” according to Dr. Susan Gerber, who is the obstetrician and maternal-fetal medicine specialist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She also added that when the baby was finally born, then all the members present in the delivery room cried with tears of joys. Sara Connell was the first person to be hold the baby after the birth and she later remarked about the moment that, “I lost it.”
