Korean Official Executed For Ruining Nation’s Economy
March 19th, 2010 - 3:17 am ICT by Angela Kaye Mason ( Leave a comment )Mar 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) In an un-official announcement which was released this morning, the world learned the fate of the North Korean Official, Pak Nam-gi. He was reportedly dragged in front of a firing squad and shot until he was dead for ruining the country’s financial affairs.
Pak Nam-gi was said to have been responsible for revaluing the communist regime’s currency back in November, but in spite of his many attempts to stop inflation, the country continued to suffer money-wise. The president, Kim Jong Lii was not at all happy about the situation, and Pak Nam-gi was charged with conspiracy to “infiltrate the ranks of revolutionaries to destroy the national economy.”
Pak started the initiative which ended up causing unrest and more food shortages in the communist country, that is isolated. The goal of his reform was to keep private markets in check, but the plan backfired. This caused massive inflation surges and risked the plan that president Kim Jong Lii had, to give power over to his youngest son.
It is being said that for these reasons, Pak Nam-gi was used as a scapegoat for the economic crash that has so far ruined the country. Many of the country’s citizens are said to agree with that belief. “The failure of the currency reform caused social unrest and had a negative impact on Kim Jong-il regime’s father-to-son succession, so Pyongyang blamed it all on Pak,” an anonymous source was quoted as saying. “Pak’s case is reminiscent of Suh Gwan-hui, former Workers’ Party secretary of agriculture, who was executed during the severe famine in the 1990s.” The execution seems to be an attempt by the president and his cabinet to shift the blame and regain the support of his people, and curb their anger.
