Kiss at Newark airport shuts down the airport for hours
January 9th, 2010 - 8:58 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattNewark, Jan 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A man slipped into the secure area of the Newark airport and gave his woman one last kiss before she boarded her flight. This security lapse shut down the airport for hours. A videotape of the Newark incident shows the man embracing a woman at the C-1 security checkpoint before she passes through passenger screening, the Star-Ledger newspaper of New Jersey said, citing unnamed security officials who have viewed the tape.
The man who caused this entire furor was not a passenger, but still he managed to get into the airport’s secure area. This has rattled the security officers at the airport no end. Senator Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey’s spokesman said. “After viewing video of the security breach, I am even more outraged by the lapse that occurred,” Lautenberg told the Star-Ledger.
The man walked past a station where a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officer should have been stationed, and his woman held up the rope which keeps the bystanders at bay, and let him in. the couple then walked hand in hand towards the boarding area too. The man, who caused the security scare, kissed his girl and then left the airport too. He couldn’t be nabbed and is not identified too.
