Kids Find Dead Body In Park During Easter Egg HuntApril 6th, 2010 - 3:24 am ICT by Angela Kaye Mason
Apr 05 (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Saturday morning, at around 10:20 am, while approximately one hundred kids were hunting Easter eggs in the Beaverdale Park of Des Moines Iowa, a body lied waiting in a wooded area of the park. The annual event was held at 3301 Adams Street in Des Moines, Iowa. Eventually, as it was inevitable, two of those kids stumbled across the corpse, as the others kids continued unknowingly in the day’s events. The two kids who found the body were young teenagers, who has brought their younger siblings to the Easter egg hunt and then walked away from the festivities. It is unclear what the ages of the two teenagers were.
The body was found, at least 300 yards from the Easter egg hunt itself. Police Sgt. Chris Scott stated that the body was that of an adult male, and that an autopsy will be performed. It did not seem as thought there was any foul play, and the police do not suspect so. They would not release the name of the man since until his family had been notified, but have now made it known that it was Goddi Ishima, a 34 year old man. He was found by a creek, and had a rope tied around his neck. The other end of the rope was hanging from a nearby tree. Ishima is a refugee from Africa who recently moved to the United States. His friends had called the police and filed a missing person’s report prior to the discovery. They added that although he had been experiencing difficulties with adjusting the American life, they had not suspected that he may be suicidal. Video can be seen here of the neighbors reactions.
