It has been reported by the Police authorities recently that the 1 year old baby who has been abducted and was under search has been been recovered safely in Citrus Heights and his father has been arrested on charges of the child’s abduction. The father has not only kidnapped the child but has been reported to have beaten the mother of the baby to death with a baseball bat and took away the child. The father has been identified as James Raphael Mitchell who is about 27 years old.

It has been known that on Sunday, Mitchell had killed the mother of the baby girl Samantha at a home located in Novato and fled with the child. Responding to a call regarding a possible assault at around 7 p.m. from house in Diablo Court in Novato, police soon came and found that the woman had been lying dead in the yard. Soon police started searching for the suspect and found a car at about midnight that matched with the description to that of the suspect’s. Since the murder case turned into a case of abduction Amber alert were generated and within a few hours the abductor James Mitchell was detained and taken into custody as reported by Jennifer Welch who is the Novato Police Sargent.
The police authorities had to be cautious in dealing with Mitchell since according to the Novato police Mitchell was armed as he had two guns registered in his name and had been reported to have given life threats to any law enforcement officer who tries to come in contact with him.

It has been known that Jim Mitchel has earlier been convicted with manslaughter and weapon charges in the killing of his brother Artie Mitchell.
