London, July 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS)The size of the area doesn’t matter when a “Keep Off the Grass” sign is concerned, at least that is what the Merton Council in London believed. The sign is placed on patch of land which is barely big enough to be sat on at Raynes Park.

The action of the council has infuriated some members of the community who says the money used for the sign could have been put to a better use. One such resident told The Daily Mail that, “It is a ridiculous waste of money, especially in the context of council cuts and redundancies. It is a ridiculous waste of money, especially in the context of council cuts and redundancies. I’ve had many a great time on grass, rolling around, frolicking, admiring, and altogether enjoying its lush texture and greenness. I love the stuff.”

The Merton council declined to state how much they spent on the sign. A spokesperson of the council told reporters that complaints have been received from some residents regarding where the sign has been placed. She was however not in the position to state why it was placed at the place in the first place.

Merton Council plans to save £45million in the next three years.
