Katie Medley survives theatre shooting and then gives birth to a baby boy
July 24th, 2012 - 6:23 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattDenver, July 24 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A gunman went wild at a screening of the ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ and he killed 12 people and injured many. Katie and Caleb Medley had been waiting for a long time to see the new Batman movie and little did they know, that the premiere would change their lives forever.
Caleb was injured during the shooting spree when he got a gunshot wound on his head. However his pregnant wife was lucky enough to escape unhurt and later she delivered their baby – a boy named Hugo. It is not known when the doctors would allow Caleb to see their son, as they fear for infections.
Caleb is in a very critical condition and he is admitted at the University of Colorado Hospital and ironically that is the same hospital where his 21 years old wife delivered their son. Caleb’s father-in-law – David Sanchez revealed that his son-in-law and Katie are big fans of the Batman series and they had planned for this outing for almost a year.
David also went to the court house where the gunner is being tried. He said that, “When it’s your own daughter and she escaped death by mere seconds, I want to say it makes you angry”.
