Katherine Nadal was sentenced to 99 years in prison on Monday by the court of law. The court found her guilty of an incident of two years ago, that of mutilating her then 5 week old son Holden Gothia’s genitals.

When the jury’s reports were read out, the 28 year Katherine screamed out that she didn’t hurt her son, but had surely let him down by sheer neglect. Holden has survived the incident, but the emotional scar that it is going to inflict in his growing up years is something that is past all comprehension.

After three hours of deliberation, the Houston jury found Nadal guilty of all charges brought against her. Her vehement opposition in the court irked Holden’s father to storm out of the court, baffled at the denial in her tones. Camden Gothia lashed out at her saying, “You abused him when he was in the womb.”

Nadal has always maintained over the two years that her child’s mutilation had been brought about by the family’s pet dachshund “Sporty,” who had supposedly snipped off Holden’s body parts.

However, medical examination reports seem to indicate that it was the use of a blunt object that had severed the body part. The severed body part was not found ever. Experts have argued that a dog’s chewing (a small one that too) couldn’t leave symmetrical lines of cuts on the baby’s body.

Reports had indicated that the night of the mutilation, Nadal had gone to a dope house and had been high on drugs. She had also previously had a wide history of substance abuse for which she had been booked quite a number of times. After the attack on her son, she had tested positive of cocaine, Xanax and methadone.
