Kansas couple charged of running a drug house near local elementary school

TOPEKA, KANSAS (BNO NEWS) – A male and a female were indicted on Thursday with two counts of maintaining a residence for the purpose of storing and distributing cocaine and marijuana in Lenexa, Kansas, prosecutors said.

Lamont T. Drayton, 37, and Brittany Dorf, 23, live an apartment in the city of Lenexa, Kansas. The building is within 1,000 feet of Rosehill Elementary School. During April 2009 and January 2010, the defendants maintained a drug operation using this location for storing and distributing undisclosed amounts of marijuana and cocaine.

Drayton is charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, two counts of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm after a felony conviction.

Both defendants are waiting to be sentenced and they could face up to 40 years imprisonment for maintaining a drug involved premise.
