September 29, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The famous candy maker ‘Just Born’ recently launched a new line of pumpkin-shaped marshmallow called Peeps. The candies are complete with a chocolate coating and are wrapped individually to attract the Halloween shoppers. The new candy has been aptly named “Peeps Chocolate Covered Marshmallow Pumpkins”. The new line of candy comes in two different varieties with a orange marshmallow core, which is covered by milk or dark chocolate on the exterior.

The Just Born Marshmallow Peeps Halloween candy is going to be popular with the young and adults alike. The new product is inspired from the chocolate-covered Peeps chicks that were launched right before Easter this year in 2010. The company has decided to make this treat available at all the major retailers in country. The Dark Chocolate Peeps Chicks won the “Buyer’s Choice New Products Award at the Sweets & Snacks Expo in Chicago in May 2010.

Just Brand’s Assistant Brand Manager Aubrecia Cooper said that the consumers love to consume the Peeps covered in chocolate. Therefore the company has come up with this new range of cute looking candies that mark the great American tradition of Halloween.

Other products from the newly launched Halloween lineup includes Peeps shaped like cats, pumpkins and ghosts. Consumers can also purchase and consume the sugar-free Pumpkin Peeps. The company has come out with the individually wrapped Peeps that can be handed out to the ‘tricks n treaters’. Although the privately owned company did not reveal the sales figures, we can guess that they are making quite a killing with their new products this year.
