Cleveland, Feb 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A jury in Cleveland acquitted a 19-year-old man for lack of evidence. Well that happens all the time so why is this making the news?

After the jury acquitted the man, some of them showed compassion on the man by offering their jury fee to the man. At least three of the jury members said that if the man manages to overcome the experience and earns a high school degree or its equivalent, they will be donating their $100 jury fee to him.

The man, Demrick McCloud, has been in custody since he was arrested on assault charges. He was accused of leading a group of other teenagers to assault a high school student late last year. The prosecutors claimed that the student was also further threatened with a gun by McCloud.

During the trial however, the investigators failed to provide enough evidence to suggest that he was part of the crime. The jury didn’t waste time at all in acquitting McCloud of all the charges that were brought against him.

McCloud had been in jail since he was arrested on the 13th of October. His story moved the jury who decided to pay him for his troubles.

The prosecutors insist that the victim is positive that McCloud was the leader of the attackers.
