Orange County, Fl., Oct. 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) 23 year old Casey Anthony is getting immense media attention once again this week as her trial case zooms in to the eyes of the nation. Being tried for the murder of her two year old daughter Caylee Marie, she faced the judge’s row this week, with the media placing her and the Anthony family under close scrutiny all over again.
Anthony has reportedly pleaded not guilty to the charges of first degree murder of the two year old toddler. She has stated that it was a baby sitter who had allegedly kidnapped Caylee and the baby was not in her supervision till the time her remains were recovered in Dec. 2008, months after she went missing.
The judge has however chosen not to dismiss the charges of first degree murder and aggravated child abuse against Casey. In his ruling, Circuit Judge Stan Strickled has reportedly stated on Friday that the motion that had been filed by Casey’s attorney failed to meet all the requirements that are sufficient in order to dismiss such critical charges.
According to the reports from court officials, the date for the Casey Anthony fraud check trial has been set for Jan. 25, 2010. On the Dec. 18, a pre-trial on the case will be held. Casey is being tried in a separate trial for as many as a dozen counts of frauds; one of those charges including that of a check forgery. Casey’s attorneys had requested for her case to be tried outside that of Orange County but there seems to have been no updates on that front. It is known that the prosecutors had wanted Casey’s fraud case to be held prior to that of the murder trial.
