Joran Van Der Sloot Police Interrogation Starts In Peru

peru The Dutch playboy Joran van der Sloot is now facing an interrogation by the Peru police. Sloot is the main accused in the murder of 21-year-old Stephany Flores on May 30. He is also the prime suspect in the disappearance of the Atlanta student Natalee Holloway in 2005.

Joran was sported in a green bulletproof vest and handcuffs with teary and stunned eyes, when he was escorted from an Interpol SUV on Saturday. A large group of journalists gathered in the packed police auditorium in Lima, Peru after his arrest in Chile Thursday.

During his interrogation, Sloot avoided all the questions and remained tight-lipped. Gen. Cesar Guardia, chief of Peru’s criminal police informed that his interrogation had started almost immediately.

A video taken by the security cameras of the hotel, where the crime took place, was also released by the police. The footage revealed that van der Sloot entered the hotel room together with his alleged victim Stephany Flores. But later, he left alone with a gym bag in his hand and a day pack on his back.

While going inside the hotel, Flores was seen following Sloot with her head down as he was handed over the room key. She followed him in this posture untill they entered the room.

In a brief news conference, Peru’s interior minister, Octavio Salazar, informed that the murder investigation was not over yet. He added, “We are not able to hurry with the case and cannot disclose details regarding the case or investigation.”

In the meantime, Holloway’s uncle, Paul Reynolds, said in a TV show that the family is looking forward to see van der Sloot behind get punished and they want to reopen the case of 2005.
