Amsterdam, Feb 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Another confession from Joran van der Sloot, the suspect in the American Natalee Holloway disappearance case has come up. This time he has confessed to a German television broadcaster that the body of the American student was disposed by him in the marshes of the Caribbean island Aruba. The prosecution is not ready to believe his statement and declared that though new investigations have opened up due to his statement, the statement is highly unreliable. Joran van der Sloot has previously said that he had thrown the body of the victim into the sea near the Caribbean Island.
Joran van der Sloot is the prime suspect of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway from Aruba in the year 2005. He had made his previous confession two years ago in 2008 to an independent crime reporter. However, at that time his statement could not be used by the prosecutor as evidence. According to witnesses Natalee Holloway was last seen leaving a bar in Aruba but her body was never recovered or found. However, the statement made by the suspect led the prosecution to reopen the case. Joran van der Sloot had claimed earlier that he has not killed the victim and that she died accidentally.
Following the confession the Aruban Justice department however has said that the suspect’s confession is false and that the witness’s statement contradicts that of the suspect’s statement. They have also said that Joran van der Sloot’s confession bears inconsistencies. The time, date and place do not match together. He has also in his confession not mentioned any particular location or place, which decreases the statement’s credibility highly.
