Jonestown Killer, Paul Devoe Gets Death Penalty For 2007 Killing Spree

killerAustin, Texas, Oct. 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Paul Devoe has been found to be guilty of all the murder charges that had been brought upon him by the authorities in the first week of this month. He had been arrested by the authorities on August 27, 2007 in Shirley, N.Y. following the cross-country killing spree that he had been involved in. The Texas jury convicted him on all counts of the charges of capital murder, concerning the brutal killings of the daughter of Devoe’s former girlfriend and one friend of the girl in Jonestown in the August of 2007.

He has been sentenced to death after some deliberation by the members of the jury, who considered him to be a threat even from behind the bars of the prison. According to the reports of the Austin American Statesman, it appears that the jurors had taken somewhat around 20 minutes [or less] on Friday, Oct. 2, before declaring their stand on the issue.

The jury found Devoe guilty of murdering the 15 year old Haylie Faulkner and the 17 year old Danielle Hensley, in Jonestown. He has also been accused of the murder of Haylie’s mother, Paula Griffith, who was his former girlfriend as well as the Paula’s boyfriend, Jay Feltner (48).

Other charges have found him guilty of the brutal deaths of a bartender named Michael Allred (41) in Marble Falls, as well as that of an elderly woman named Betty Jane Dehart (81) that had been committed some days later, near State Line in Pennsylvania. Devoe had also stolen Betty’s car after shooting her. Prosecutors had been seeking a strict death penalty for him ever since the he was brought to the law.
