Johnny Strange, a native of Malibu, California, has achieved a big feat in a very young age. The 17 year old kid has scaled the perilous terrains of the Mount Everest which stands at 29, 0335 feet and managed to leave his mark on the mountain top. On reaching the top of the highest mountain peak in the world, he left a message declaring loudly, “Stop Genocide”. He succeeded in his hazardous mission almost three weeks ago.
This daring teenager has another message that he wants to deliver to his contemporaries, which is, to pursue one’s dream and meet challenges confidently. After his major achievement, he flew down to Australia from the Himalayas. It was in Australia that he finally rounded off what he had set out to achieve. On Monday(in Australia it was Tuesday) Strange had climbed to the top of the Mt. Kosciuszko, which is of the height 7,310 feet, to become the youngest person in the world who has managed to climb the highest peaks on seven continents. A common term coined for the seven peaks is Seven Summits.
After Monday’s feat, Strange has beaten a previous record set up by Long Beach mountaineer Samantha Larson. Larson had scaled the Seven Summits when she was 18 year old. Soon after fulfilling his dream, Strange sent an email to his family and friends which read,”Never let anyone stifle your dreams no matter the feat, for if you have the heart and the courage. impossible is nothing.”
For Strange, it helped to have a father who is a wealthy and well established attorney and an active adventurer besides, to foot his bills. However, that is no reason to tarnish the boys zeal and persistence. He deserves all the adulations coming his way.
