Aug 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Republican leader John McCain is making news lately for the most unlikely of reasons. The 2008 Republican Presidential nominee has been named a ’social media genius’, according to a recently conducted joint study. The new study that was undertaken by Scott Galloway, a professor of New York University and George Washington University School of Business dean Doug Guthrie. They took into consideration as many as 100 United States senators who were analyzed on the basis of their ‘digital IQ’ which resulted in John McCain attaining the top slot.
After the research was conducted, it was concluded that the Republican leader had a digital IQ of 156 which was considered to be highly impressive by the researchers owing to which John McCain was classified as a ’social media genius.’ While the first position was registered by the 73-year-old Republican leader, he was followed by other Republican senators such as Jim DeMint and Scott Brown in the second and third position respectively. The first Democratic leader to make an appearance in the list of most social media savvy senators turned out to be Sen. Al Franken.
However, John McCain is not the only senator to have attained the tag of being a ’social media genius’ as all the above-mentioned leaders were successful in achieving the title of a genius. The unusual research was carried out by the professors by determining the score with the help of certain metrics which was derived from each of the senator’s activities on the social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube while the political blogs as well as the congressional online portals were also taken into account.
