Joey Chestnut wins the bratwurst eating contest
September 19th, 2011 - 7:37 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattCincinnati, Sept 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Renowned eating guru Joey “Jaws” Chestnut has won the first ever Pepto-Bismol Bratwurst Eating Championship. The contest was held on Saturday at Oktoberfest- Zinzinnati. For gulping down incredible 42 bratwursts in just a matter of 10 minutes, Joey took the first place and the prize money of $2,500. He also walked away with a golden chicken hat which was presented by Oktoberfest- Zinzinnati.
Tim “Gravy” Brown came distant second when he downed only 31 and 3/4 bratwursts in ten minutes. In total, the contestants ate 191 and ½ bratwursts. Joey is regarded as a genius in the world of eating competitions. He is a multi-record holder gem in the field.
The Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest which is held annually at Coney Island seems to be the reserve of Joey. He has won the title four consecutive times and like all the previous years, he consumed more hot dogs in the contest than each of the other contestants. The most hot dogs that he has eaten were 68 hot dogs in just 10 minutes.
He has also consumed 9.8 pounds of pork in 12 minutes as well as 4 and a half steak with sides in just nine minutes in the past before.
