jess Sydney, May 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A sixteen-year-old Australian has sailed around the world to become the youngest solo sailor in history. Jessica Watson created history when she spent seven months on the sea. The voyage which took Jessica on some of the world’s most deadly watery regions, would not however be considered an official world record, because the World Speed Sailing Record Council has removed its “Youngest” record category.

The parents of the girl, who have been highly criticized by many people for allowing her to go on such a dangerous mission alone, were present at the Sydney Opera House on Saturday to meet their daughter. Just when her yacht touched the shore, Jessica ran to her tearful parents and cried.

Her voyage videos released includes moments when she felt depressed and cried. But she said she enjoyed her voyage and handled all the challenges that she faced on the high seas, in a better way, than she thought she could handle it.

Jessica’s voyage started from Australia through the South Pacific and across the equator to the tip of South America and then across the Atlantic Ocean to South Africa and through the Indian Ocean to the Southern Australia. However some sailing analysts said that she didn’t travel far enough north of the equator to consider her voyage a true round the world.
