best13Nov. 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Missouri based American outlaw/ robber, Jesse James has not only inspired books and movies but also full-fledged documentary. “Jesse James’ Hidden Treasure”, a two hour long film is slated to be aired on the History Channel on November, 9th, 10th and 14th. History states that Jesse who is said to be most famous member of the 19th century gang, the James-Younger gang, had amassed over $1.5 million in gold and cash in order to finance his lavish criminal lifestyle and his secret society, ‘Knights of the Golden Circle.’

The documentary shows Ron Pastore (resident of Kansas) leading the hunt for the treasure that was shelved by Jesse, long before his death. Ron is convinced that the murder of Jesse [by Robert Ford] was nothing but a rue in order to help him flee. Like Ron, there have been other historians, who believe that the murder of Jesse James, which was a national sensation in its time, was an elaborate plot which eventually helped him to escape justice. There have been rumors time and again that Ford had killed someone other than Jesse, but the fact is not supported by the DNA tests.

The film, shot in early August in Jacksonville, Beekman Bank, Beekman House and the Hanley Farm also explores the rumors that Jesse had been working for the US government secretly and that the man shot was Jesse’s cousin and not Jesse himself. The crew and caste refuse to unveil whether they found the treasure or not and ask the people to tune-in to find out the truth behind the ‘Jesse James’ Hidden Treasure’.

  4. Stephen Says:

James…I think you are right about Oklahoma. My Great Grandfather grew up in Watonga Oklahoma and I had always heard that Jesse James had a hideout on their farm. I have never been there myself, but one day I’m going to find out where it is exactly and do alot of searching.

  5. JAMES E CLARK Says:

Got to watch all of this program last night on the Histoy Channel after 2 attemps. Was very good. Just wonder the when the follow up #2 will be shown. Sure want to see it.

Went with a friend to Mo. He showed me a house where Jessie had a shoot out, with bullet holes still in the house. This is what he told me. Not sure if it is true or not.

  6. Paul Says:

To me this show was another dissapointment, did the aliens bulid the pyramids, they want to know what is under the sphinx, but they don’t dig, the masons, all this stuff so interesting, the city of Atlantis, all this and know this, Phewy, its all about the second episode if he doesn’t come up with a find on the second episode yhis will just be another unsolved could be tru couldn’t, which would make is look some fantasy knida like about when will we know who killed Tupac Shakur stuuf like this is just like OK THEN, so I hope and would like to see the second episode with them finding tresure, I have to say it was definitly cool to see but also it was really a bunch of bull if they don’t come up with the tresure, have to say I wish that guy some luck though

  7. Sandie Says:

When will part II come out, I am very interested to see what happens and what is found.

  8. richard Says:

man i just bought a metal detector and i hope to find something somday it keeps my hopes up i have found litle stuff and a few good coins uncovering lost history realy is fun cant what to see what i dig up next and when part two comes out

  9. Stephen Says:

This first show of Jesse James
made me more interested in the history of why people do what they do. I would never have thought this type of action, could have or could be going on today.

  10. JAMES Says:

But they are not using guns today

  11. Paul Says:

Defenitly cool to see that this type of research going on based on the fact this guy was so popular and also he had different stuff that people didn’t know about him the show was good, but I hope that they find tresure on there, besides that little piece or nothing that they did find granted that was a excellent find bein as though it was stashed long ago but I dont think that is what that guy was looking for. They jus keep having these shows and saying stuff aboutt things but never can get to the coclusion in this case there is not really a conclusion but with all the info on how much money this guy put into what he is doin it would have you brlive he woud find something thatwould be at the end of a rainbow, was a cool show hope they find the treasure

  12. Paul Says:

What I’m mean by this show bein phewy not that it wasn’t cool its just these show are so intriginfg like they talk so much bout pyramids but can never find how they are built jus wish someone would tell something on something or basically defitly need to see this guy find treasure, fate of the world is in your hands Ron Pastore lets get it

  13. Hmm Says:

And where is part II? Just wondering! I just love how you watch something with out the punch.. Then you hop on to a website to get more info on a continuence…..and all you see is where is #2.. *Love it* So let me guess.. To Be Continued?

  14. dewayne bryant Says:

part will come out when he gets more money to fund it. he ran out of money

  15. pops Says:

um …….its coming on this week @8pm

  16. Robert Says:

This is very interesting, but I have a problem believing that back in the day they dug 15 feet below the dirt to hide something, and we can’t even dig that far down with a back hoe??? The coins raise some good questions, and it would make sense to hide something in a cave or a few feet down, but 15 feet down??

  17. Dontthikso Says:

None of it was real,it’s just tv. The coins were planted. Sorry, hate to be a party pooper!

  18. Ritchie Says:

Reakky interested in the comment Jmes left bout the house his friend showed him were Jesse supposedly had a shootout, what state?

  19. Ritchie Says:

    Really and James,bad typos sorry.

  20. Karen Says:

The website says they want people to tune in for more……then no information at all on part 2. Does anyone know when part 2 will air or has it already and I just can’t find it?

  21. Lilbearhugz Says:

I found it to be VERY interesting and have no trouble believing it could be true. Let’s not forget, then men who cam up with the idea for the decleration were just ordinary men looking for a way to better their lives. In doing so, they had to become criminals before they became the father’s of our country. I believe the confederacy would have done anything to fund another uprising or war. I have personal interest in this story due to family folklore and they have both Missouri and Kansas ties, so I will be contating Mr. Ron Pastore. For the man who said he wish he could contact himself, you should polish up on your reseach skill…I had his complete address and phone number in under 30 seconds..guess it just a woman sometimes to do the job! :)

  22. Claudette Says:

I found it VERY, VERY interesting as well.

Had no trouble believing JJ faked his death and lived till 1935. Pretty interesting stuff all the way around.

I sure hope they get the funding to dig up that “box”. I also hope they air another special on this very interesting story.

  23. Akvilio Says:

Watched it twice, very interesting facts. It was said that they needed to raise money and bigger machinery till spring…. now it’s summer, is there any way to know what’s going on with this?

  24. ronald neel Says:

when is the follow up movie that shows what they found in kansas when they used the deep metal detector pulled behind the tractor they were searhing with and decided to wait for better weather to dig the treasure up with thank you verry much.

  25. Anthony Says:

I would like to say that befor i say what i do there are going to be people that say i am liying or some other crap people can think what they want i know the truth so that is what matters anyway I am related to jessie james by marriage. one of his family members married a female family member of mine you can check the family genealogy for the last name of Owsley this is my last name by grandfather mother so my grate grandmother knew jessie first hand. I have been told by my grandfather and many other members of my family that when jessie would be on the run form MO he would stop in IL some times and as he pass threw IL he would stop at my grate grandmothers for food rest change of horse. I was told that the firearm I have was traded by jessie james to my grate grandmother for a horse she has. He was on the run his horse was tired and he didnt have time to stop and rest them he had to run so he stop by her house knowing she had horse’s he traded her a gun that he stole for the horse so this is what my family has told me. I have also been told that jessie gave money gold jewels to many family members that had hard times back then. I know of one location in the state of IL that has treasure buried inside a basement of a home. My grate grandfather and grate grandmother knew jessie he stole a wedding ring for them due to them not having money to buy rings so jessie stole the ring during a hold up when he gave my grandparents the ring he also over tiem gave them gold nuggets coins as well as other items. the items were buried because my grandparents thought they would get in trouble having those items being they were stolen and who stole them so they buried the items. The last story of the info i have been told is the day my grate grandfather died he told my grate grandmother his wife that there is enough buried in the basement to take care of the whole family and the family’s future generation meaning there kids kids. I and the family have and do not know how much is buried in this location we know for sure its there cause we have taken a metal detector to the location told to us by grate grandpa and the detector pings off of the chart we were told there is jewelry coins and gold nuggets as well as gold bars from that time period. The gold bars from that time was about 5 to 6 ounces in weight but how many or how much is buried no one knows its still in that location due to the owner being afraid that we will still get in some trouble for having stolen items and for who stole it so it has been left underground in a basement that had a concrete floor poured over the ground where this is buried someday this home will be left to me and when that day happens I will dig it up.

  26. JAMES E CLARK Says:

Someone asked about my post, about the house where a shootout was, that my friend said Jessie James was in the shootout.

I think it was Clay County, Missouri. I would have to ask him to be sure. I know we were in Clay County that day he showed me the house

  27. Patrick Says:

Anthony…it all sounds interesting until you get to the reason why “you and family” and the current “owners” have not dug up the source of the “ping off the charts.” There is something called a statuts of limitations. If you have a fear about digging up what could amount to be a family fortune…none of you have any concerns I can assure you. What Pastore dug up could also be considered stolen. Just as all the treasure from the pirate ship The Whidah was stolen, the were no legal ramifications or claims were or could be made against the discoverer or the crew. Since I think you probably already know this I would have to side with your opening statement. Bunk!

  28. itdiddlings Says:

It was interesting to see the Columbia Mo connection because of legitamite historic ties to the Centralia Massacre and the stigma associated with it. Most older locals have stories of James, Younger’s and Edwards ties to this area. A Levi James appears on the 1860 Audrain census living a short distance from the alledged battlefield. 1948 Mexico newspapers have editorials contending that the Fastest horse in the world was brought back from James gang members when they retired[Morris?]. Even more intriguing is that the Woodson family in-laws were all land speculaters of 10,000 plus acre from Black Hawk War bounties that fizzled in value after the drunken massacre and reconstructionist UNIV OF MISSOURI “father” James Rollins was Abe Lincoln’s swing vote for abolition after lifelong deep south hemp growing slave ownership. Truth be known, it seems more like some big time 1800’s politics of some Southern Henry Clay trained rich boys spinning alotta myth from the original School of Journalism. All that’s left of the treasure is dots connectable on the geneaology message boards that verify bloods thicker than water and newspaper articles are often manufactured hoaxes, much like TV shows.

  29. Angelo Says:

I find it very difficult to accept that someone will go through so much trouble to locate a hidden tresure and when he is so close, he simply stops a few feet from the find of his life to wait for better weather or more money, do they really believe that people that watch that show are so stupid?
I say I would be digging alone rain or shine with my own hands day and night until I find what I am after.
There is no part II, the guy found the tresure and he didn’t want that to be recorder for obvious reasons, we are not that stupid you know !!!

  30. anthony Says:

I would like to respond to the comment by patrick. I my self do not own the house this belongs to my grandfather. I can say i am sure that you know how old people can get set in their ways. I as well as the rest of the members in my family are not allowed to go digging this up due to my grandfather owning the home as well as him being set in his ways. I can say that he is so set in his ways he has never owned a phone in his life out of fear the government listing in on the call. so if that not tell you anything nothing will. I will get this home when my grandfather passes on and then i will dig it up. I can no go into some persons home and start digging trust me i would love to. I was there one time my father asked him to dig it up and he threw a fit he is a war war 2 vet that’s in his late 80’s if you can find a way to get him to allow us to dig it up i will give you 1/4 of whats there

  31. Patrick Says:

Those additional facts do shed a diffeent light on the matter. I too know all too well the “set in their ways” mindsets of the older generation and the immovable nature of our veterans. For that I am as grateful as any other American for that. Hell, we would not be able to have these venues of communicating as we do here. As far as me getting him to let you dig…not sure I’d come away with my scalp. So,let me humbly retract my bunk and replace it with a more compassionate response. Understanding. I for one can admit when presented with additional evidence that I could very well be wrong. It must be difficult nowing there is a means by which financial troubles and or a better life is a dig or two away. The sleuthy type in me says “ha, what if the wise old guy dug it up himself and left just enough to “ping” away any suspicion. In either case…I hope the best for your family and hope that the day you are able to unearth that historic cache of loot that you “don’t” make the dig a public thing. These days…well…you know. But do…live well.

  32. Dave Says:

Anthony: I am an Owsley, and I have heard this story from my father. I always thought it was ‘horseshit,’ until I saw you recount this tale here. I’m curious to connect our lineage and the relation to James.

  33. Carl T Hopkins Says:

after watching your show on Jesse James an Ron Pastore My son an I looked at each other an said we beleave Jesse Jame an the GNC along with John Wilks Booth Killed Presdent Lincoln It all fits if look at the Time period An the goverment doe’s not want you to know ANd I also have an Idea who killed Kennedy

  34. Rob Says:

To all that are tied up in this mess and to Mr Pastore. Can we please let this out. I mean as far as it looks, people could be linked to things that may be not so good….but to me it also is starting to get that jfk, area 51,and so on conspiracy theory. If there is this knowledge from new evidence Mr Pastore let it out give some people some closer, especially for the james family and relatives. Im so tired of the goverment so involved screening with this secret society. I hope that someday someone will get the backbone to do that…and as far as them stopping that dig, please…..from what they already found I would say yep there on to something, cant quite understand why it would be so deep?? maybe an old homested with tunnel systems…. Anyways IM sure my opinions are not worth much but I sure would like to see some answers before another commercial,if u know what i mean. Good luck Mr Pastore and crew.

  35. Craig Says:

People, do a bit of research on Pastore. I did. It turns out he had a Jesse James museum in Kansas that he filled with fake pieces of memorabilia. Fakes! This guy is a con artist. I, too, was excited as heck when he dug up those gold and silver coins, until I read about his museum. There’s no way I can believe anything he has to say now, even if it were actually true.
The group he hired, National Geomantic Society, is bullsh*t. Google them, too…not much on their site…just a made-up group wearing fake badges on their tv show.

Oh, and I also cannot believe that they stopped digging because they ran out of funding. They would have no trouble in that area finding a contractor that would lend them a bigger digger on a line of credit, especially since they have the History Channel on their sides. How much could it cost to dig another 10 feet???!!? And the excuse they use of “Winter approaching”. Riiigghhhtt…all those leaves on the trees are still as green as can be. It’s not even close to Autumn, yet.
That entire group is full of sh*t and shame on the History Channel for putting such crap on w/o properly vetting them, first.

Oh, and about 90% of you posters above me need to seriously do some proof-reading before hitting “submit”…wow.

  36. Richie Says:

Craig, spelling counts!, your so wright

  37. Beth Says:

we’re talking about an American outlaw, we aren’t talking about uncovering alien spaceships or presidential asassination conspiracies, just Jesse James and a whole bunch of evidence that supports a very clear and reasonable theory. I don’t care what they found in that mountain of dirt from what I could see there was possibly a mine shaft they had mentioned as well, but did not really get into, if there were 40,000 people involved in this secret organization in Kansas ALONE, a secret mine could have EASILY been constructed by those involved especially if there was enough money to pay ppl to just patrol caches, but who’s to say it would be in Kansas anyway? Besides, aren’t you absolutely stunned by the amount of evidence this episode provided about a man who faked his death after going on the most notorious bank robbing spree in the history books, and then lived out the rest of his natural life surrounded by his own flesh and blood and took his secret to his grave? I understand many of your frustrations about the History channels pyramid theories, and area 51 crap but pyramids were constructed THOUSANDS of years ago and we’re not talking about E.T., we’re looking at something that happend only over 100 years ago and it doesnt take a jesse james historian from the national geomantic society to look at the two photos of J.M. James and Jesse James and say hey they have the same scar and they look exactly the same but older, and hey jesse james attended a meeting involving a bunch of the KGC after he allegedly was killed, we know because cuz his damn name is on the roster. I think people are missing the point here it’s not about the treasure being found, it’s uncovering a true conspiracy and evidence supporting an underground society which involved hundreds of thousands of americans in the late 1800’s who took extreme caution in taking their life stories to their graves. THAT is the true treasure uncovered here, and I don’t believe that there is a giant treasure trove to discover. The James-Younger gang covered a HUGE area of the midwest and south and were possibly aquiring the money so the “south could rise again” which obviously went to the KGC. So I highly doubt they were hoarding money. It’s possible the KGC had underground banks but there isn’t anything left in them, 1.5 mill/ 5 mill would have been spent over the last 100 years. We might find little jars with coins in them that they maybe forgot about when they were drunk or possibly the person meant to retrieve it died but we won’t know what really went on unless someone wrote it down and hid it somewhere they didn’t want ANYONE to find it, and chances are someone did, someone always spills the truth in some way. We will see what comes of all this someday.

  38. Paul Says:

Buddy u say it not about the treasure, well the program on tv was directed towards that and I’m sure alot of people were focused on the treasure and not the fact facts about the history of Jesse James. LOL u could read that at a library and plus if it were not so much about the treasure but the fact that he concealed secrets and stuff tha program should have clearly made that more of a focus that it was trying to get the message across about all the little secret stuff that was going on even though they focused on that alot it was the excitement about finding the treasue and I’m sure alot of people out there where more interested and focused on that. I’m sure the people who made the show knew that to and maybe most likely made it that way so people would be more interested in watching . I mean come on it defenitely was about finding the treasure the guy stated all the money and sacrifice he put into buying equiment and stuff give me a break. It was about finding treasure. LOL. Those conspricies and pyramid stuff are not the same far as maybe a little more fictional seeming but the point is it is fictional if they dont show another program with them finding a bunch of treasure that was the point realting it to the pyramids and area 51. They talk about stuff that has alot of stuff to make you wonder but its like on the edge of are they pulling my leg or is this real. To make it worse about the Jesse James thing is there will always be curiosty about secret societies and pyramids cause the normal man has no acces to actual go to area 51 or know about the secrets of secret societies, but the Jesse James saga will be just another T.V. show that was kinda cool to watch that you can look back on and be like THEY AINT FIND NO TREASURE, if they do end up showing another episode and find noyhing. LOL

  39. Beth Says:

yeah i was tryin to get my point across but its hard to do without spending too much of ur life time doing so lol

  40. Paul Says:

yeah Beth I hear ya seems it takes alot to say what you know in this society nowadays always, seems stuff makes you have to go out of your way sometimes issues in life make stuff hard, you have to deal with racism and all sorts of crazy stuff, this is a interesting topic though I’m glad everytime someone comments it comes right to my email though, lol, so I can keep up on this interesting topic

  41. Paul Says:

I see you are kinda in to this to you kinda had alot to say, your feelings of stuff taking a lifetime seems evident, lol

  42. Paul Says:

Sometimes it might be people just aren’t willing to accept stuff for what it is, I know for me people just aren’t on my level or just deny to accept the facts so they act out its ok though

  43. Paul Says:

Well I shouuld say people are brought up differently so some kinda never see certain things that society puts in our face and thats what brings about alot of different views on stuff sometimes cause people are from different places

  44. JAMES E CLARK Says:

I do not care about the treasure. It would be nice to see them find a treasure. I have though for many years Jessie did not die when they said he did. They uncovered so much info on his family that looks as if it could be true. The name in the reunion book makes me think more that Jessie did not died when we were told he did.

This program was so much better than anything you would look at on any of the networks. There is nothing but crap on the networks to watch.

So come on Pastore and History Channel do a follow up on this. Show what they find at these other sites they had reading no matter how small.

  45. Virginia Peiffer Says:

    Dear Ron Pastore, 4/30/2011

I have a secret to tell you, its about Jesse James. My father told me this in confidence when we visited his parents and grand parents property.
I feel you might be interested in,but….I dont want anyone else to read it only you.
I just watched your search of JJ’s gold on tv’s history channel and I thought you would like to add this information to this shows story of Jesse James.
I know for a fact my family far back have never lied about anything,so what I was told by my dad has to be true. He never lied to me.
If you would like to read my story just write to my E-Mail and I will be glad to put it on your E-Mail to read.
Please do more historical stories for us to see on the History channel, I love history
    cant get enough.

    (virginiapeiffer@yahoo.com)
will wait to hear from you.

    Sincerely Yours,
    Virginia “Floyd” Peiffer
    Maryland.

  46. Beth Says:

Paul thanks for the feedback,I’m really interested in stories where there’s alot of evidence that supports that history may have not been documented whole factually. I’d really like for them to make another REAL Jessie James episode and show some more research done on the man himself.

  47. Paul Says:

Jesse James was a interesting figure to you huh Beth. I belive they most likely will have another episode about Jesse.

  48. Paul Says:

or should I say another episode about his lost treasure that will also discuss his history, LOL.

  49. Beth Says:

lol yeah, i guess that would do

  50. Kyle Martin Says:

It was a greatly interesting show but c’mon when’s the next episode going to air? My father and I watched it twice and may give it one more go. Tell us! Even if he didn’t find anything the History channel will get great ratings that day for sure.

  51. Kathy Says:

When will Jesse James Hidden Treasure Air again? Today’s date 11/5/11

  52. Garrett Tesoro Says:

As a lifetime resident of Kansas, treasure hunter of 24yrs, member of a club responsible for authentication of historic sites, and recovery of artifacts for hisorical societies and museums, and coin collector, I question the condition of the Morgan dollars for one. It is my belief they whould have been in better condition.
