Jean-Francois Poinard:Body of French Chef, Missing for Two Years, Found Stuffed in Freezer

lyon Aug 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The body of one of the best known chefs in France was discovered by police, stuffed into a freezer, after the man had been missing for two years. Police began the search after the girlfriend Chef Jean-Francois Poinard admitted that “something unfortunate” had happened to him on a drunken night out.

Detective found the corpse of the retired chef and restaurateur in the freezer of an apartment in Lyon, in the southeast of France. Jean-Francois Poinard was 71 years old at the time of his death.

During the 1970s and 80s Jean-Francois Poinard was one of the top chefs in France. He went missing 2 years ago, after he had already retired. It is believed that his body has been in the freezer for the entire time.

Police raided the apartment after the former girlfriend of Jean-Francois Poinard, fifty one year old Guylene Collober told her daughter that that “something unfortunate” had befallen the chef. The daughter immediately called in the police. As they arrived at her apartment, Collober was said to have burst into tears and said, ‘I think you’ll find what you’re looking for.’ Soon after they found the body in a chest freezer, in the fetal position, covered with plastic bags.
