Sturbridge, Mass. Nov. 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A 26 year old Brazilian immigrant, Barros-Gomes, who worked in the J.C.Penney departmental store in Sturbridge has been arrested with the charges of raping a child in the dressing room of the store. Every year, several mishaps are reported from different parts of the country during the festive season but assaulting and raping a child of under fourteen years has shocked people.

According to sources’ reports, police has arrested J.C. Penny’s worker on Tuesday after they came to investigate the case. The man has been presented in the Dudley District Court where he succeeded to get a bail for twenty five thousand dollar. Police officials investigating the case said that the man had raped the child after his mother went out of the dressing room for making a call. Wednesday, the prosecutors in the court said that the accused started a conversation with the boy in the dressing room and remained inside the dressing room taking advantage of his mother’s absence. Prosecutors said, ‘the defendant became engaged in a conversation with the young man, offering to bring some clothes he could try on” and assaulted the child.

Officials of the J.C. Penny store has taken this charge on their employee seriously and have stated that they would cooperate with the law enforcement officials in the investigation of the case. They have also said that they had checked the background record of the man before appointing him for the job in their store. Parents are really worried about their child’s safety after learning about this incident in a reputed store.
