A week since Jaycee Lee Dugard walked back from the dead when she stepped inside the office of a parole officer on August 26th, more and more details about the incident are coming to light.

Tina Dugard, Jaycee’s aunt has spoken to the public at a press conference that was held on Thursday, September 4th, to reveal the intricate and detailed proceedings of the family reunion that took place on Thursday, August 27 among the Dugard family members. She read out from a prepared Dugard family statement in front of the gathered press.

After a very very long gap of 18 years (she was 11 years old when she was kidnapped in 1991) Jaycee finally got reunited with her family. Tina said that Jaycee was upbeat regarding the whole thing and was deriving pleasure from getting to know her younger sister, who was a mere infant when Jaycee had been abducted by her tormentors Phillip and Nancy Garrido.

Speaking about the young daughters of Jaycee who are alleged to be fathered by Jaycee’s abductor and captor Phillip Garrido, aged 11 and 15, Tina said, “Although they have no formal education, they are certainly educated. Jaycee did a truly amazing job with the limited resources and education that she herself had, and we are so proud of her.”

However, Tina did not divulge any information on how Jaycee had been treated by the Garridos in her long years of captivity. Tina sated, “This is a joyful time for my family. Jaycee remembers all of us.” Elaborating, she said, “The smile on my sister’s face is as wide as the sea.”
