Jaycee Dugard To Pen Memoir About Abduction Ordeal

New York, Sep 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) This is a story that is sure to inspire millions across the world. The incredible survival story of Jaycee Dugard, who was kidnapped when she was eleven years old and was held in captivity for the next 18 years before being rescued last year, is going to be published next year, it was announced on Monday. Publishing house Simon & Schuster who would be releasing the book, have revealed that the book would be penned down by Jaycee Dugard herself.
A press release that was issued by Simon & Schuster on Monday read that in the memoir, Jaycee Dugard, now 30-year-old, would be divulging the story which would include details of the day way back in the year 1991 when she was abducted till the present day when she is raising her two daughters. While talking about the memoir, Jonathan Karp who is the executive vice-president of Simon & Schuster said that when he went through the pages of the book that have been written so far, he was hugely inspired by just the power, strength and resilience of Jaycee Dugard’s voice.
Jaycee Dugard was kidnapped by Phillip Craig Garrido from South Lake Tahoe, in Southern California in 1991 and she was held captive for almost two decades before she was rescued in August, 2009 living in a tent behind the house of her captors. On Friday, the criminal proceedings against Phillip Craig Garrido was suspended by a California judge citing the state of his mental health as the reason. However, the criminal proceedings against his wife, Nancy Garrido have not been stopped.
