Japanese Bakery Sells $33 Edible iPhone
December 29th, 2010 - 2:13 am ICT by Angela Kaye MasonDec 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) As people all over the world are going crazy over the iPhone by Apple, a Japanese bakery is making a fortune selling an edible version…for thirty three dollars, or two thousand seven hundred and thirty yen. The mobile cookie is about the same size as the original iPhone, but is made from chocolate, and decorated with tasty candy icons.
Kumiko Kudo, who is the forty four year old store owner, explains that the “iCookie” was created back in 2008 as a birthday present for the husband of a customer. Once the recipient put photos of his iCookie on Twitter, the fame began. Both pop star Komi Hirose and economic writer Kazuyo Katsuma posted the photos on their Twitter accounts. Kudo has sold hundreds of the cookies since.
In March, an iCookie was given to the president of Softbank, who is the exclusive carrier of the iPhone and iPad in Japan. Masayoshi Son, who received the cookie stated, “I’m so happy, I could not possible eat this!”
