Aug 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Lying behind bars for a crime she maintains innocence of, Amanda Knox, still hopes to adopt children and become a writer when free. The American student, who was convicted in Italy along with her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito for the murder of her British roommate and is at present serving a jail term of 25 years, has revealed her wishes to an Italian lawmaker. During her series of jailhouse conversation with lawmaker Rocco Girlanda, Amanda Knox has not only voiced her thoughts and wishes, but also discussed her life before she landed up in jail. The jailhouse conversation between the two has formed the basis of a book titled “Take Me With You-Talks with Amanda Knox in Prison”, which has been published in Italy and is scheduled to hit the book shelves of the U.S. market later this fall.
Rocco Girlanda, who had met Amanda Knox at the time of her conviction and entered into a conversation saying that he wanted to know her to help the diplomatic crisis that had set in between the countries due to the case, maintains that a friendship grew between them eventually. The lawmaker mentions that in his around 20 jail visits, of whose account he had painstakingly kept in a diary, they had hardly discussed the case.
It is Amanda Knox’ personal life, her upbringing in Seattle, her memories of the 9/11 terrorist attack that have formed the content of their discussion. The material of the conversation that has formed the basis of the 240 pages book contains the views of Amanda Knox on subjects ranging from religion and spirituality to marriage and culture. However, out of jail, Amanda Knox will perhaps come up with some of her own stories.
