Jacob Shaffer: Thirty Year Old Man Charged With Homicide
July 19th, 2009 - 7:22 pm ICT by GD
30 year old, Jacob Shaffer was charged with homicide on Saturday regarding the slaying of six people, whom some evidences suggest may have been from the same family, in two communities about 30 miles apart in Tennessee and Alabama.
According to the sources, the investigators have reportedly said that the victims included four adults and two juveniles. The initials of the victims have not been released yet until further notifications are done.
On Saturday, five people were reportedly found dead in the two neighboring rural homes near Fayetteville in southern Tennessee and a sixth body was found in Huntsville, the authorities said.
Shaffer, who was reportedly found sitting on the front porch of one of one of the houses by the officers was immediately taken into custody and charged with homicide. Tennessee Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Kristin Helm had stated in an e mail that Shaffer was charged with five counts of homicide for the Tennessee deaths and also faced an additional count for the sixth body that was found in Huntsville. Helms said, “Most of the victims are suspected to be related. The motive of the killings is domestic.”
While the authorities have not released the names and age of the victims until they are identified, Karon Weatherman, who supposedly lives half a mile away from the Tennessee homes, said that she saw children aged between four and five running back and forth between the houses across the road, who may possibly be the two juveniles killed in the slaying.
She also said that although she didn’t know the family, she believes that the family moved into the locality earlier this year. “I wouldn’t expect nothing like this to happen,” she said.
All phone numbers listed in Huntsville under Jacob Shaffer’s name has been reportedly disconnected by the authorities.
