Jackie Kennedy New York, Apr 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Jackie Kennedy gave 7 interviews in 1964 to historian Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr. In all these interviews she talked about her marriage, her life and times in the White House, campaigning in the election-year and her famous husband JFK’s thoughts about a second term as President. The interviews were held at her abode in Washington DC.

All these interviews are an integral part of the JFK Presidential Library’s Oral History. But they were kept under wraps, for an indefinite time, as Jackie Kennedy wanted them to keep away from the public eye. However since she died in 1994, so her daughter Caroline Kennedy has finally allowed them to be released to the public.

The interviews would be released next year in September, when Hyperion would publish their transcripts, and also release around 7 hours of audiotape.

“My mother’s passion for history guided and informed her work in the White House. She believed in my father, his vision for America, and in the art of politics, and felt it was important to share her knowledge and excitement with future generations. It is a privilege for me to honor the memory of my parents by making this unique history available,” Caroline Kennedy said in a statement.
