Washington, Sept 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Previously unknown side of former US first lady Jacqueline Kennedy will be revealed on Wednesday. An audiotape of the wife of President John F. Kennedy will be released by her daughter.

Under US laws, the tapes were not yet due to be released to the public. However daughter, Caroline Kennedy, has decided that the material should be released now. The recordings contain the interview that Jackie granted former White House aide and historian Arthur Schlesinger. The interview was conducted just months after the assassination of Kennedy. Interestingly Jackie never spoke about the assassination of her husband on the tape.

The tape will be released along with the book, “Jacqueline Kennedy: Historic Conversations on Life With John F. Kennedy.”

Addressing the Cuban Missile Crisis that nearly caused a war between the United States and the Soviet Union, Jackie said that, “I said, ‘Please don’t send me away to Camp David, me and the children. Please don’t send me anywhere, if anything happens we’re all just going to stay right here with you.’”

Jackie died in 1994. Under US laws, the recordings should have been released 50 years from the death of the former first lady. The interviewer, Schlesinger, passed away in 2007.
