May 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Let’s get ready to rumblllleeee! Terry Bollea, who is best known to wrestling fans everywhere, as well as the rest of the world as ‘Hulk Hogan’ is suing the makers of ‘Cocoa Pebbles’ because of their commercial entitled “Cocoa Smashdown” in which a character named ‘Hulk Boulder’ which look suspiciously like Hogan, is taken down by the Flinstone kids (Pebbles and Bamm Bamm) after he beats op on Fred and Barney in a wrestling ring.

Hulk Hogan claims that the cereal maker appropriated his image in the commercials, in a federal lawsuit which states, Hulk “is shown humiliated and cracked into pieces with broken teeth, with the closing banner, ‘Little Pieces…BIG TASTE!’” The suit goes on to explain that Hulk Hogan used the alias ‘Hulk Boulder’ early in his wrestling career, and it was later changed to ‘Hulk Hogan’ when Vince McMahon felt he would do well with an Irish name.

Hogan contends that Post Foods never sought nor did they receive permission to use his image for the use of his image to promote their product, He says that although he made his objections known to Post in August, the commercials continued to be aired. He adds that he is marleting his own foods, such as a Hulk Hogan energy drink, and ‘Hulkster Burgers’ which would be a line of microwavable hamburgers and chicken sandwiches that would be sold at Walmart stores. Hulk added that his image has been harmed by, along with other things, “the unauthorized and degrading depictions in the Cocoa Smashdown advertisements.” Post was not available for comment. Embedded below is the ‘Cocoa Smashdown’ commerical, for readers to view and judge for themselves. Maybe Post won’t soon face another lawsuit for the use of a term awfully close to the of ‘WWE’s Smackdown’.
