Irish mobster son’s death might have been a suicide

mickey-st New York City, July 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Police said that they are investigating the death of the son of former mobster - Robert Spillane as possible suicide.

It ought to be recalled that Robert was commonly known as ‘Bobby’ was 45 years old and he fell from the sixth floor of an apartment on Eighth Avenue on Saturday and died. Police initially suspected accident when his brother, Michael Spillane who witnessed that accident told the police that his brother called him shortly after falling through his window screen.

But police said that Bobby, who was struggling with depression might have jumped from the widow to his death.

However the family has not taken lightly to the police’s latest view of the death. The family maintains that Bobby’s death was purely an accident. The family claimed that Bobby just recently had a surgery on his arm, so he accidentally fell out of the window as he was leaning against it and his arm gave away.

However another officer who witnessed the fall said the death might be an accident. He has been assigned to investigate the accident.

The family has not announced that date for his funeral as yet.

It may be recalled that Robert’s father – Mickey Spillane had died in 1977.
