Iraqi Security Forces arrest suspected terrorist

BAGHDAD, IRAQ (BNO NEWS) – Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) arrested a suspected al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) member Wednesday, U.S. Forces in Iraq said.

ISF and U.S. advisors searched a residential building for a suspected AQI affiliate during a joint security operation carried out 24km southeast of Baghdad. The suspect is allegedly responsible for numerous bomb attacks and several assassinations.

ISF identified and arrested the warranted individual after preliminary questioning and examining the collected evidence at the scene.

Iraqi and U.S. forces conduct joint operations in accordance with the Security Agreement and in coordination with the Iraqi government to target terrorists seeking to disrupt the security and stability of Iraq.
