Iraqi Security Forces arrest a suspected Al-Qaeda member
January 28th, 2010 - 8:41 am ICT by BNO NewsBAGHDAD (BNO NEWS) – Iraqi Security Forces on Wednesday arrested a suspected extremist during a joint security operation conducted in Ad Duluiyah.
Acting upon a warrant issued by an Iraqi court, Iraqi Police and U.S. advisors searched a residential building for a suspected Al-Qaeda member who is in direct association with the organizations leadership.
The security team discovered possible IED-related material, including several large batteries, and a passive infrared sensor, as well as a note hidden in a piece of clothing that specifically mentioned Al-Qaeda, the Islamic State of Iraq and some of the extremists groups’ activities.
Based on preliminary questioning and evidence collected at the scene, Iraqi Police arrested a suspected extremist in connection with Al-Qaeda in Iraq.
