Dec. 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The software, skygrabber, which helps internet users to intercept and save satellite data downloaded by other users is now used by some Iraqi insurgents, stated sources. This is not the first time that the Iraqi militants are using the internet to fight the US attacks. As per the reports of some confidential sources, Iraqi insurgents are now using the spy application, Skygrabber to access the videos recorded by US drones.
US drones form an important part of the defense measure adopted by US Defense to fight against terrorism in Afghanistan as well as Iraq and the news that the videos sent by these drones are tracked has raised eyebrows of many people. It has been anticipated that tracking the drone videos by the militants will give them complete information about the targeted places in Iraq and so they would be able to defend themselves easily. Getting illegal access of the drone videotapes will not only boost the defense of the insurgents but also might cause hindrances in the activities of the US Defense personnel.
US drones, which are controlled from distant places and forms an important tool to fight against the militants have faced many criticism. Crash reports of drones in Afghanistan and Iraq had raised several questions on the security measures of the country. US drone accident that claimed the life of several civilians in Pakistan was subjected to severe criticism. The recent report related to the US drone video hacking once again led to criticism of the US defense policies and it is expected that the US Defense officials will take necessary measures to avoid similar problems.
