Sakineh Mohammadie Ashtiani Tehran, July 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) An Iranian woman is said to be slated for stoning to death in Iran. The 43-year-old Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani who has two children has been found guilty of committing adultery and faces death by stoning.

The International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran in a campaign to save the Iranian woman’s life has already appealed to Iran’s judiciary and parliament to stop the practice of stoning people to death when they commit crimes. The sentence states that the woman should be stoned with medium-sized stones to prolong her death, and make her suffer more.

She’s already been given 99 lashes for engaging in an illicit affair and charged with adultery later for the same crime. Mohammad Mostafaie, who is her lawyer said that she was denied fair trial in Court, as no evidence was presented against her.

She also couldn’t properly understand the charges against her, since she’s from Azerbaijan and not fluent in Iranian language which was used in her trial. According to reports, the woman was being abused in her marriage. She became friends with another man and her husband was murdered by her male friend in a row, over her relationship with the new man.

Both the woman and her male companion were found guilty and jailed for ten years, but the woman has been charged again with adultery and sentenced to death, even though no evidence exists that she had an affair with her male companion.
